Read Me

Dear readers,

This is just a standard disclaimer to let you know that I have no affiliations and I receive no compensation from any of these apps or developers.  These reviews and apps are meant to be used under the direction of a licensed speech-language pathologist and should in no way be considered as a replacement for therapy. The purpose of this blog is to list Android platform apps that I have found to be useful in my personal therapy sessions with clients, and in the future, ones that other professionals have recommended to me.

These reviews are based entirely my opinion of these apps and their use is not limited to those I have mentioned, and they are not guaranteed in any way.  These are suggestions and ideas for ways that these apps may be incorporated into a speech-language therapy session, or recommended to parents for home practice.

Most of the apps listed on this blog are free, but some are up to $5.00 and you should seriously consider whether they are worth the price of trying before deciding to pay for them or recommend them to parents to buy.  I will only list apps that I feel are worth the price, but this is based on my personal preference and experience with the apps.

I am merely supplying the information that I have gained and sharing it with other professionals in the hope that this will improve access to apps for all speech-language pathologists and our clients whether they have apple or androids available to them.

Sincerely,

Miriam Rabaza-Saunders, M.A. CCC-SLP
The Android SLP

  2. Hi Miriam,

I am considering an iPad vs. an Android tablet to use with my speech kids. Since you seem to have a lot of experience with Android apps I figured I should ask you - overall, are you satisfied with your Android as opposed to an iPad? Do you feel like you are missing out on a lot of iPad apps that are unavailable on the Android?

    Thanks!
